Sometimes the underappreciated genre of room interiors encompasses the best qualities of still life and figurative works.
It reminds me of this farmhouse, now a museum, at the opposite end of Denmark:
Interesting, thanks. I wonder if it was built around the same time.
There is something about the domestic stillness of that interior that reminds me of the movie, “Babette’s Feast.”
