Originally from Serbia, illustrator and designer Vladimir Stankovic is currently based in Denmark.
Stankovic’s fascinatingly textural style, rendered in muted colors and close value relationships, often deals with a bizarre bestiary, consisting of fantastical land animals, insects and sea creatures.
Among the projects on his sites are subtle animated GIFs and images of a pop-up book project of Grimm’s Fairy Tales. I’m particularly drawn to his charmingly edgy illustrations for Little Red Riding Hood.
