Still Life with Small Game and Fruit, Frans Snyders
In the Rijksmuseum.
It’t interesting to compare this painting with a similar subject by Snyders in the National Gallery of Art, DC: Still Life with Grapes and Game.

this one is amazing sir, it really looks real and the paint brush are perfect for its object, I would like to try painting soon, for now I want to stick in pencil. 🙂
The rich and sensuous surface of a Frans Snyders painting is one more reason for painters and connoisseurs to take note of this renown 17th-century Dutch painter. His layering of the opacities, translucencies, and transparencies gives one pause for reflection in how oil paint can be masterfully manipulated in the service of meaning and delight. Thank you Charley Parker for bringing attention to Frans Snyders’ splendid details.
Thanks, Partrick. It’s always nice to have your insightful comments.
