Holyday, James Tissot
Sometimes listed as “The Picnic”. In the Tate Britain. Use Full Screen link under the image (or full size here).
While today is not a Holyday (holiday), it is Tissot’s birthday, a nice day to welcome fall foliage and celebrate a wonderful and underrated painter.

So many interesting and intriguing things going on in this painting! I am quite curious what those glass like things in front of the reclining gentleman are!
They are “torpedo” style glass bottles for soda water or mineral water: http://www.sha.org/bottle/soda.htm#Round Bottom/Torpedo Styles
